Brief Biography

Professor Guylène Deasy’s teaching topics include instruction in French and Francophone language and culture at all levels, French phonetics, Business French, and Advanced Grammar. Her scholarly interests include second language acquisition, language proficiency assessment, identity studies, and social justice. She has over twenty-five years of experience teaching at the higher education level and ten years as a Target Language Specialist. She holds certifications as a French OPI, OPIC, WPT, and AAPPL tester through the American Council on the Teaching of Foreign Languages. In 2023, she earned ACUE certification in Effective College Instruction, with credentials in inspiring inquiry, promoting active online learning, creating inclusive environments, and designing learner-centered courses.
