Brief Biography

Rose holds a Master’s degree in Peace Studies and Conflict Resolution from the American University of Rome in Rome, Italy, and a Bachelor’s degree in Political Science from North Carolina Central University in Durham, North Carolina. A Detroit, Michigan native, Rose was introduced to international education at a young age when she traveled to Europe with People to People International, a “personal diplomacy” youth ambassador program established by President Dwight D. Eisenhower. Visiting France, Switzerland, Belgium, the Netherlands, and Germany opened her eyes to a world beyond her city, state, and country and ultimately inspired her to pursue her Master’s degree in Italy.

During her graduate studies, Rose attended United Nations events, participated in the Agency for Peace-building Bologna Forum, and visited the renowned Italian Catholic NGO Sant’Egidio to explore opportunities for international student engagement. She also served as a summer intern at the World War II Sicily-Rome American Cemetery and Memorial in Nettuno, Italy, where she had the opportunity to pay tribute to the soldiers of the 34th American Division who served in the Anzio-Nettuno campaign and are laid to rest there.

Rose joined ÂÒÂ×ÊÓƵ’s Global Education Center as a Program Coordinator in 2024. She advises and supports students participating in semester study abroad programs in Italy, Greece, and Croatia, managing one of ÂÒÂ×ÊÓƵ’s largest semester study abroad portfolios and supporting more than 200 students annually. Her passion for international education, diversity, equity, and inclusion, mentorship, and student development continues to shape her work and her commitment to helping students discover the transformative possibilities of studying abroad.
