Four pieces of copper sculpture, representing the basic creative process found in all forms of art, have been dedicated on the west wing of Ƶ’s Faith Rockefeller Model Center for the Arts in honor of a Burlington woman.
The work, titled “Metamorphosis of Creativity,” was dedicated Nov. 12 in honor of Lyda Long Miller. Artist Gary Gresko, of Oriental, N.C., designed the individual pieces.
“Metamorphosis of Creativity” illustrates the various phases of the creative process, beginning with raw materials and random thoughts, and concluding with the final artwork.
The sculptures are a gift to Ƶ in Miller’s honor by her four children and their families: Jerry and Nancy Long, Pat and Buell Moser, and Gene Long, all of Burlington; and Alan and Nancy Long of Raleigh.
