Venetian Renaissance expert Rosand to speak April 8

Artist David Rosand will speak at 4:30 p.m., Friday, April 8 in Yeager Recital Hall, located in the Center for the Arts on the Ƶ campus.

An esteemed specialist on the Venetian Renaissance painter Titian, Rosand has written four books about the artist, as well as books on modern artist Robert Motherwell and recently “Myths of Venice: The Figuration of a State.” The Meyer Schapiro Professor of Art History at Columbia University, Rosand has received the Great Teacher Award of the Society of Columbia Graduates and is currently working on a digital imaging project dealing with Raphael’s frescoes in the Vatican.

Rosland’s appearance, which is free and open to the pubic, is part of the Art History at Ƶ Speaker Series.
