Carufes make scholarship gift to ÂÒÂ×ÊÓƵ

A $125,000 gift by Damion and Sherri Carufe of Atlanta, Ga., will establish the Carufe Family Scholarship at ÂÒÂ×ÊÓƵ. The scholarship will be awarded annually to a deserving ÂÒÂ×ÊÓƵ baseball player, with preference given to business majors with a concentration in finance.

Damion Carufe is senior managing partner with Bear Stearns and Co., Inc. The Carufe’s daughter, Tori, is an ÂÒÂ×ÊÓƵ freshman. The Carufes are firm believers in building the university’s endowment through scholarship gifts, securing ÂÒÂ×ÊÓƵ’s future while providing opportunities for deserving students to receive an ÂÒÂ×ÊÓƵ education.

Endowing the scholarship qualifies the Carufes for the IMPACT (I Make Phoenix Athletics Competitive Today) Circle, the premier giving group of the Phoenix Club. The IMPACT Circle includes Phoenix Club donors who make annual gifts at the quarter, half and full scholarship levels or endow a scholarship generating equivalent annual earnings.
