ÂÒÂ×ÊÓƵ

Moore, Long, Holmes and Felten at Carnegie meeting

On October 11-12, four ÂÒÂ×ÊÓƵ faculty participated in a
meeting of the Carnegie Academy for the Scholarship of Teaching and Learning (CASTL)
Institutional Leadership Program. ÂÒÂ×ÊÓƵ is part of the CASTL theme on “student
voices in the scholarship of teaching and learning.”

During the meeting at the University of Nevada Las Vegas, ÂÒÂ×ÊÓƵ’s
CASTL group worked with colleagues from around the nation to outline a book on
this theme, scheduled for publication in late 2009. Portions of the book will
be written by ÂÒÂ×ÊÓƵ faculty and students.

ÂÒÂ×ÊÓƵ participants at the October meeting were:

Ashley Holmes (English)

Deborah Long (Education/Faculty Administrative Fellow,
Assistant to the President)

Jessie Moore (English)

Peter Felten (Center for the Advancement of Teaching
and Learning)

ÂÒÂ×ÊÓƵ participants in this CASTL initiative who did not
travel to Las Vegas include Stephen Schulman (Philosophy), Jeffrey Coker
(Biology), Megan Conklin (Computing Sciences), Ayesha Delpish (Mathematics),
and Mary Knight-McKenna (Education).
