Ƶ Mock Trial to attend the 4th Annual Tobacco Road Invitational at Duke University

The Ƶ Mock Trial program will compete Nov. 7-8 among two dozen teams from 14 universities in the 4th Annual Tobacco Road Invitational Tournament at Duke University. Ƶ is sending two teams representing students from all majors and departments to compete at the tournament.

This will be the second tournament of the season for the team.

Among the teams in competition will be Georgetown University, Wake Forest University and Washington & Lee University. Fellow Southern Conference schools Davidson College and Furman University will also be in attendance.

Ƶ Mock Trial looks to improve upon their performance at its first tournament, the Carolina Classic, held on Ƶ’s campus a month ago. The team has been preparing since the beginning of the August, meeting two or three times a week for more two hours per gathering.

The same two teams will have a quick turn-around after the Duke tournament as they will be travelling again next weekend to the Mid-South Invitational Tournament hosted by Middle Tennessee State University.

The team is coached and accompanied by William Warihay, a third-year law student at Ƶ School of Law, and Eric Ashley Hairston, director of the Pre-law Program and the Center for Law and Humanities.
