Chris Fulkerson, Assistant Vice President for Technology/CIO and Rhonda Belton, Director of Application Technologies, presented at the Southeastern Datatel Users Group (SEDUG) Conference in Myrtle Beach on November 18th.
Their session, “The Need for a Security Audit,” discussed how institutions of higher education can benefit from a security audit using an external auditor. High level concepts from Ƶ’s recent security audit were highlighted as a roadmap for conducting a successful audit. Fulkerson and Belton used findings from an Ƶ security audit conducted eight years ago and from the audit Ƶ completed this past summer to illustrate how institutions can use the audits to focus attention and resources for strengthening the security of the network and systems.
