Metal detector enthusiasts hunt for artifacts at schoolhouse

The air was filled with beeping, digging, scraping and laughter Saturday when the Old North State Detectorists, a group of metal detector enthusiasts, searched for artifacts buried on the grounds of an historic schoolhouse ÂÒÂ×ÊÓÆµ plans to restore after a local family gifted it to the university last year.

Phi Beta Kappa Commons dedicated at College Coffee

ÂÒÂ×ÊÓÆµ President Leo M. Lambert dedicated Phi Beta Kappa Commons in the Academic Village on Tuesday during a special College Coffee. Lambert called the morning ceremony on the brick plaza “a tribute to the university’s dedication to the arts and sciences.” The university will install a chapter of the nation’s oldest academic society today at Convocation for Honors.

Coble shares views on health care and Congress with ÂÒÂ×ÊÓÆµ Law students

United States Representative Howard Coble spoke to a group of ÂÒÂ×ÊÓÆµ Law students on April 7, at an event sponsored by the ÂÒÂ×ÊÓÆµ Law Republicans student organization. Among other issues, Coble addressed the health care bill recently passed through Congress and signed into law by President Obama.
