Courtney Graham and Alex Moss graduated from ÂÒÂ×ÊÓƵ this month having made a lasting contribution to their community while studying at ÂÒÂ×ÊÓƵ. The duo are the first two alumni of ÂÒÂ×ÊÓƵ’s Civic Engagement Scholar program, which was designed for students looking to make a positive change by partnering with local organizations in need of assistance.

The School of Education offers its congratulations to seven teacher education secondary majors who recently received honors, awards and recognition from the College of Arts and Sciences.

An intern with ÂÒÂ×ÊÓƵ’s Belk Library worked this semester in coordination with the N.C. Digital Heritage Center to digitize and publish online scrapbooks created by eight of ÂÒÂ×ÊÓƵ’s earliest students.

ÂÒÂ×ÊÓƵ’s Belk Library will be participating with the North Carolina Department of Cultural Resources on a grant project to help create an open source software tool that will allow institutions to collect and preserve digital content.

Alice Turner '10 played the lead role in the Burning Coal Theatre Company's production of "My Name is Rachel Corrie," a powerful drama based on the diary of a young American woman who was killed in the Gaza Strip while trying to prevent an Israeli bulldozer from demolishing a Palestinian home.
