American Journalism Review highlights School of Communications’ revamped curriculum, new courses

The online journalism publication included ÂÒÂ×ÊÓÆµ in its December 2014 article titled “Journalism Schools Add Courses in Sports, Emerging Technology.”

The December 2014 article cites ÂÒÂ×ÊÓÆµ’s new courses in audience analytics and digital strategy. Effective fall 2014, ÂÒÂ×ÊÓÆµ’s School of Communications added a major in Media Analytics and a new core course titled “Web and Mobile Communications.”

AJR reports that it contacted 15 prominent journalism schools in the nation to inquire about their changing curricula. Besides ÂÒÂ×ÊÓÆµ, schools cited in the article were Arizona State, Florida, Georgia, Maryland, Minnesota, Missouri, Nebraska, North Carolina, Southern California and Texas, along with graduate-only programs at California-Berkeley, Columbia and City University of New York.
