Michael Rich featured for best new legal scholarship

ÂÒÂ×ÊÓƵ Law Professor Michael Rich is featured in a journal devoted to identifying "the best new scholarship relevant to the law" for his forthcoming University of Pennsylvania Law Review article on law enforcement's use of "big data."

JOTWELL, a journal devoted to identifying “the best new scholarship relevant to the law” spotlights ÂÒÂ×ÊÓƵ Law Professor Michael Rich’s article “Machine Learning, Automated Suspicion Algorithms, and the Fourth Amendment” forthcoming in the University of Pennsylvania Law Review.

JOTWELL reviews Rich’s article together with a publication by law scholar Andrew G. Ferguson.

“These two excellent pieces demonstrate the need to think about the inevitable widespread use of big data by the police in a systematic and reflective way, before the reality on the ground gets too far ahead of the law that is meant to govern it,” JOTWELL editor Elizabeth Joh writes.
