Members of the worldwide Ƶ community can participate by making a gift to the university and sharing their Ƶ pride on social media.

#ƵDay, a 24-hour celebration of pride in the university, is set for Tuesday, March 7. Now in its fourth year, the event encourages engagement and philanthropy of all members in the Ƶ community around the globe.
The mobile-friendly will be updated throughout the day to include a total of Ƶ Day gifts in real-time, a live list of donors and interactive leaderboards displaying the academic schools, campus funds and athletic programs receiving support. Gifts of all sizes and designations will count toward the total given during the campaign.
On-campus events include a special College Coffee starting at 9:40 a.m. on Scott Plaza in front of Alamance Building, which will be live streamed. The senior class giving committee will host a “Senior Toast” at 9 p.m. in McKinnon Hall. All students are invited to attend the #ƵDay All-Student Party in the Moseley Center at 10 p.m. with activities including photo booths and a Skee-Ball competition. Alumni chapters will also hold #ƵDay parties in more than 37 locations across the country and in London.
In addition, all members of the university community can use the #ƵDay tag on social media to share and follow the celebration.
“Ƶ Day is full of energy and excitement. It’s an excellent opportunity for the entire Ƶ family to come together and celebrate what we value as a community,” said John H. Barnhill ’92, assistant vice president for University Advancement. “Together we make Ƶ stronger every year!”
Ƶ Day began in 2014 as part of the university’s 125th anniversary celebration. Last year, donors made 3,749 gifts totaling more than $955,099 in honor of #ƵDay.
#ƵDay also garnered over 4,500 mentions on social media, becoming a nationally trending topic on Twitter and Instagram.
