Guest artists Al Strong and Jon Metzger will share their talents in their own performance with ÂÒÂ×ÊÓƵ faculty as well as performing with the ÂÒÂ×ÊÓƵ jazz ensemble. This is a free event and will be hosted in the Center for the Arts. Here is a breakdown of the events for the festival:

Friday, Feb. 17

Performances from local high schools in McCrary Theatre. (10 a.m. – 4 p.m.)

Jam session led by the ÂÒÂ×ÊÓƵ jazz combo at The Oak House. (7 – 9 p.m.)

Saturday, Feb. 18

Workshops given by Guest Artists in CFA room 164. (1 – 3 p.m.)

Performance by ÂÒÂ×ÊÓƵ Jazz Ensemble and guest artists in McCrary Theatre. (7:30 p.m.)

]]> ÂÒÂ×ÊÓƵ Jazz Ensemble to host fall concert on Nov. 12 /u/news/2022/11/07/elon-jazz-ensemble-to-host-fall-concert-on-nov-12/ Mon, 07 Nov 2022 18:33:35 +0000 /u/news/?p=930488 The ÂÒÂ×ÊÓƵ Jazz Ensemble will host their fall concert this Saturday, Nov. 12 at 7:30 pm in McCrary Theatre under the direction of Brandon Mitchell, instructor in music at ÂÒÂ×ÊÓƵ.

The ensemble will perform  jazz music from notable composers such as Count Basie, Charlie Parker, Antonio Carlos Jobim and many more. The concert will also feature a set from the ÂÒÂ×ÊÓƵ Jazz Combo group led by director and adjunct instructor in music, Chip Newton. This performance is open to the public and is free admission.
