Men’s golf organizes “Eagles for Haiti” fundraiser

A fundraising effort by the ÂÒÂ×ÊÓÆµ men’s golf team and spearheaded by an MBA student debuts next month with “Eagles for Haiti,” a pledge drive that asks sponsors to donate money toward recovery efforts in the battered Caribbean nation for every eagle scored this season by male golfers in the Southern Conference.
Gift boosts early childhood collection in School of Education

Children’s book author Jane Belk Moncure is seeding an early childhood collection for the School of Education at ÂÒÂ×ÊÓÆµ with a substantial donation of her popular books for preschoolers, which will be housed in the Curriculum Resources Center to support a future degree program in early childhood education.
Business of NASCAR class raises $700 for the Victory Junction Gang Camp

The "Business of NASCAR" business course raised $700 during Winter Term for the Victory Junction Gang Camp, which brings the course’s three-year total contribution to more than $1,200 for a nonprofit organization in North Carolina that serves children with chronic or serious medical conditions.

ÂÒÂ×ÊÓÆµ's Circle of Omicron Delta Kappa National Leadership Honor Society welcomed its 2010 inductees in a Feb. 7 afternoon ceremony in McKinnon Hall. Students are juniors or seniors in the top 35 percent of their class who have been in residence at least one semester, and who have exhibited outstanding leadership in more than one area of the university community.

The 2010 U.S. Census "Portrait of America" Road Tour stopped at ÂÒÂ×ÊÓÆµ on Tuesday as part of the largest civic outreach and awareness campaign in the bureau's history, with a specific focus on the hard-to-count demographics such as college students and economically disadvantaged Americans.
