Internship gives LSM students inside view of college football

Ƶ seniors Ryan Pauley and Jackie Sapio spent Saturdays this fall watching ACC football games from the conference’s headquarters in Greensboro, documenting every yellow flag and missed call as part of an internship developed through the Department of Leisure and Sport Management.

Death of staff member Millard Lee

Millard Lee, a custodian for physical plant services, died Thursday, Dec. 10, 2009. Lee worked in the afternoons at Ƶ and was responsible for custodial service in the Center for the Arts offices and music rooms, as well as monitoring special events there in the evenings.

Physical therapy program awards 37 DPT degrees

Thirty-seven candidates in Ƶ’s doctor of physical therapy program received their degrees on Dec. 6, 2009, in a ceremony featuring an address from John D. Childs, associate professor and director of research for the U.S. Army in the Baylor University doctoral program in physical therapy.

With their Ƶ tutors in tow, 22 children made beelines Wednesday evening for such titles as “Diary of a Wimpy Kid” and “Just Grace and the Snack Attack,” books at a local retailer that would, hopefully, foster a deeper love of the written word while rewarding their progress in a reading program organized by an upper level education course.

The North Carolina native, the fourth student to be featured in a monthly series of E-net profiles on the inaugural class of the university's Lumen Scholars, is now at it again – this time as the mastermind behind an original stage production.
