Employees honored at Staff Appreciation Day

Three staff members were honored May 29 in McCrary Theatre during ÂÒÂ×ÊÓÆµ's annual Staff Appreciation Day. Ray Pruitt Jr. was named Physical Plant Staff Member of the Year, Barbara Walsh was named Office Staff Member of the Year and Michael Williams was named Administrative Staff Member of the Year.

Powell building offices relocate for summer

ÂÒÂ×ÊÓÆµ’s Office of the President and its Office of ÂÒÂ×ÊÓÆµ will be relocated to different areas of campus this summer while work crews renovate Powell building to expand office suites and prepare space for the new Interactive Media graduate program.

DPT research assists accident survivor with recovery

Jeremy Gates can’t remember the car wreck that nearly claimed his life. But for the Burlington man, who undergoes physical therapy with ÂÒÂ×ÊÓÆµ DPT students and staff at Alamance Regional Medical Center, that’s not important. His desire to walk is another story.

Campus leaders recognized at ODK awards ceremony

Student leaders from a variety of academic disciplines were honored April 30 at the annual Omicron Delta Kappa awards ceremony in Whitley Auditorium. The program followed an April 23 ceremony in the Martha and Spencer Love School of Business and preceded upcoming recognition events for students in the School of Communications, the School of Education and ÂÒÂ×ÊÓÆµ College, the College of Arts and Sciences.

Senior dons Phoenix feet to accept diploma

Forget the “girly girl” high heels. When Caitlin Pascarelli walked across stage this weekend to accept her diploma, she sported the oversized black boots to the ÂÒÂ×ÊÓÆµ Phoenix mascot uniform that disguised her identity at countless university functions in recent years – and it was the first time since the Phoenix was born in 2000 that the student behind the beak has publicized her role at Commencement.
