Ƶ community donates textbooks for Ghana school

More than 3,000 books were collected this fall in a textbook drive organized by history professor Brian Digre. Digre delivered the books, packed into 120 boxes bound for the University of Cape Coast in Ghana, on Dec. 19 to a U.S. Naval base for transport to the African nation.

Students help viewers following state DTV tests

North Carolina television viewers flooded the School of Communications with phone calls Thursday as Ƶ students manned a call center to answer questions about a nationwide conversion to digital television. Regional stations alerted viewers to the DTV change on Feb. 17, 2009, with two “soft tests” that interrupted regular programming for people who rely on antennas to get reception.
