Phillipe Charles '06, a creative services producer at FOX 50, an affiliate of WRAL-TV in Durham, N.C. received two Emmy awards at the 25th annual MidSouth Regional Emmy Awards on Saturday, Jan. 29.

The Burlington (N.C.) Times-News profiled Assistant Police Chief Greg Seel '81 in its Jan. 29 edition. Seel, who retired on Monday, spent 30 years serving Burlington and the greater Alamance County community.

David M. Powell '86, who is beginning his duties as head of North Carolina's Piedmont Triad Partnership, has been named one of "10 to Watch" in the greater Triad area by The Business Journal. The periodical profiled Powell in an article published Thursday, Jan. 13.

Thanks to the many alumni, parents, faculty and staff who submitted nominations for ÂÒÂ×ÊÓƵ's inaugural Top 10 Under 10 Awards honoring the university's outstanding young alums. Nominations are now closed for this year, and the award recipients will be announced on E-Net and the Alumni Association website at the end of February.

Talk to any ÂÒÂ×ÊÓƵ alumnus about his or her time at ÂÒÂ×ÊÓƵ and you’ll typically be greeted with a grin and a lengthy gush about a top-notch education, wonderful experiences, and lifelong friendships. Yet that enthusiasm hasn’t translated into a healthy alumni annual giving percentage for the university. That’s exactly what ÂÒÂ×ÊÓƵ’s Alumni Giving Outreach initiative seeks to address.
