Representatives from Legal Aid of North Carolina and the North Carolina Justice Center will present on the Lawyer on the Line pro bono program for ÂÒÂ×ÊÓƵ Law students and a Continuing Legal Education (CLE) presentation on expunction laws in N.C. and the need for reentry advocacy. This event is open to attorneys, ÂÒÂ×ÊÓƵ Law students and members of the ÂÒÂ×ÊÓƵ community.  It will take place in Room 207 at ÂÒÂ×ÊÓƵ Law, from 3 to 5:30 p.m. on Friday, Sept. 11. 

Work experiences in U.S. appellate and district courts, and in N.C. district attorney’s and public defender’s offices are featured in part six of ÂÒÂ×ÊÓƵ Law’s student summer employment series.

ÂÒÂ×ÊÓƵ Law welcomed 13 new Leadership Fellows and recognized the professional accomplishments of 14 returning fellows at a Sept. 2 evening reception.

ÂÒÂ×ÊÓƵ Law Professor David Levine kicked off ÂÒÂ×ÊÓƵ’s Technology and Law Speakers Series on Sept. 2 with a discussion featuring insights about evolving federal legislation designed to tackle cyber-espionage but threatening to deteriorate trade secrecy law. 

Speaking Sept. 1 with first-year law students, three former Chief Justices of the North Carolina Supreme Court, all founding ÂÒÂ×ÊÓƵ Law advisory board members, shared insights on judicial process, professionalism and leadership. 

Military law, judicial clerkship, commercial real estate and criminal law are featured in part five of a weekly series spotlighting the insights and work experiences of ÂÒÂ×ÊÓƵ Law students.

In an ÂÒÂ×ÊÓƵ Law Now commentary, Professor Enrique Armijo examines developing laws aimed at allowing government officials to avoid performing same-sex marriages. 

ÂÒÂ×ÊÓƵ Law’s new Entrepreneurship Speaker Series is designed to inform entrepreneurs about legal matters involved with creating startups and growing small businesses. The series will feature accomplished attorneys and law scholars on topics including business structures, finance, tax law and intellectual property. 

The latest edition of the ÂÒÂ×ÊÓƵ Law Review features scholarship on sports law and the evolving policies and regulations surrounding collegiate athletics. 

The Entrepreneurship Speaker Series at ÂÒÂ×ÊÓƵ Law is designed to inform entrepreneurs about legal matters involved with creating startups and growing small businesses.
