Six ÂÒÂ×ÊÓƵ staff members were recognized for their outstanding contributions to the university at an awards program May 27 during the annual staff recognition celebration in Alumni Memorial Gymnasnium.

ÂÒÂ×ÊÓƵ's graduates dodged the threat of rain and graduated in a glorious morning ceremony held at the center of campus on the main quad stretching from Alamance Building to Moseley Center.

Rain is still in the forecast for Saturday, May 21, so the continental breakfast provided for graduates, their families and guests prior to the Commencement ceremony will be held in Moseley Center, the Great Hall in Global Commons and in the Center for the Arts.

The former chief justice of the N.C. Supreme Court received an honorary Doctor of Humane Letters degree before giving the Baccalaureate address on Friday, May 20.
