Three people who make a difference in the lives of others were honored Monday by ÂÒÂ×ÊÓƵ in the 17th annual “Hometown Heroes” awards ceremony on campus. Freshmen class officers selected the honorees for “making a positive difference by touching lives and strengthening their home communities” in a program sponsored by the Truitt Center for Religious and Spiritual Life.

Dr. John Coleman, chief scientific advisor of Algenol Biofuels Inc., will deliver a Voices of Discovery lecture at 7:30 p.m., Monday, Nov. 8, in McCrary Theatre. Coleman will discuss America's energy future and ways to produce ethanol from algae.
