ARTS Day in North Carolina this year presented the opportunity for ÂÒÂ×ÊÓƵ students and faculty to appeal to legislators for support for the arts.

The school recognized nearly 100 students and faculty and staff members for their academic successes and leadership with academic achievement awards, Dean's Awards and endowed scholarships.

Students were recognized for academic achievement, undergraduate research, service and other areas.

ÂÒÂ×ÊÓƵ’s 2021 Smith-Chase Lecture featured three distinguished scholars.

Shawn Cole, vice president of global sales at Delta Air Lines, shared his involvement in corporate America and offered advice to ÂÒÂ×ÊÓƵ business students on how to best prepare for their upcoming careers.

The film is part of a North Carolina shorts category and will be screened in person on Wednesday, May 12, and virtually on Thursday, May 13.

Lane, assistant professor in the School of Education, will focus on how teachers who support inclusive practices in Thailand use research to inform their practices.
