Candidates from graduate-level programs in the Dr. Jo Watts Williams School of Education and Martha and Spencer Love School of Business received their diplomas during a joint Commencement ceremony May 20 in Alumni Gym.

From the high-pressure hallways of NBC Universal to the executive suites of the Hallmark Channel, Angie Polk ’06 has spent 17 years proving that kindness and tenacity are the ultimate creative catalysts. Now, as the founder of Simply Believe Creative, she is returning to her professional passion: identifying authentic voices and bringing feel-good stories to life.

Working with TikTok and ÂÒÂ×ÊÓƵ alumna Julia Denick ’15, students in Professor Lee Bush’s Strategic Campaigns courses spent the spring semester developing campaigns designed to help brands and businesses better understand the platform’s influence on consumer discovery and purchasing decisions.

Three members of the class of 2026 and two members of the class of 2025 have been selected for the prestigious program that offers opportunities to teach English, conduct research or attend graduate school in more than 140 countries. One member of the class of 2026 was selected as an alternate.

Greg Honan '14 came to ÂÒÂ×ÊÓƵ planning to study music, but a first-year political science course sparked a passion for politics and writing that shaped his entire career. He now serves as deputy chief of communications for the City of Boston and credits the mentors and community he found at ÂÒÂ×ÊÓƵ for making it all possible.

The article, published in Virus Genes, shares findings from a two-year undergraduate research project led by Charlotte Dagli ’25 that identified viruses with enhanced oncolytic potential, or the ability to selectively infect and kill cancer cells, against fibrosarcoma.

A graduate of the International Business Dual Degree program, Sofia Galazzi ’19 now serves as a Budget Officer at the European Commission in Brussels. She uses the soft skills developed at ÂÒÂ×ÊÓƵ to navigate global financial systems.

Inspired by Book’s service to ÂÒÂ×ÊÓƵ, Trustee Kerrii Brown Anderson ’79 has made a $500,000 gift to name the gathering space at the university’s future health and wellness hub.
