Faculty and staff honored at annual luncheon

Four ÂÒÂ×ÊÓÆµ employees were recognized for superior scholarship, teaching, mentoring and service at the annual faculty-staff awards luncheon on May 13, 2009. Laura Roselle, Connie Book, Glenda Crawford and Keith Dimont were each selected for one of the highest accolades bestowed each year on faculty and staff.
ÂÒÂ×ÊÓÆµ wins second straight men’s baseball SoCon title

Pat Irvine's two-run homer in the top of the 11th inning lifted the ÂÒÂ×ÊÓÆµ Phoenix to a 13-11 Southern Conference baseball victory over the Western Carolina Catamounts, clinching the second consecutive league title for the Phoenix and the third in four years for the program.

L'Tanya Richmond, a 1987 ÂÒÂ×ÊÓÆµ graduate and former director of ÂÒÂ×ÊÓÆµ's Multicultural Center, was awarded the ÂÒÂ×ÊÓÆµ Medallion on Saturday, April 25, at the university's annual Phillips-Perry Black Excellence Awards ceremony .

Trustee Jay Hendrickson ’71 and his wife, Amy ’69, of Raleigh, N.C., are among the 12 recipients of the 2009 Southern Conference Distinguished Service Award. The SoCon award recognizes individuals from its member institutions who have contributed to all aspects of the university.
