The staff members were recognized for their outstanding contributions to the university at a May 26 awards program during the annual staff day celebration.

������Ƶ recognizes the 19 staff members who are retiring after years of dedicated service to the campus community.

Gaither, an accomplished teacher and scholar, has been a member of the school’s faculty for nearly two decades and has served as interim dean since 2022.

The associate professor of classical languages was selected as the first faculty member to be honored by the endowed professorship that was created by the university’s board of trustees in spring 2022.

Krista Contino Saumby, associate director of career development in ������Ƶ Law's Office of Career and Student Development, is among a group educators and attorneys who will assist the Hispanic National Bar Association with strengthening Latino representation in the legal academy.

The end-of-the-year luncheon concluded a full year of participation from 12 participants representing six Student Life departments.

The professorship honors senior full professors for their career achievements in teaching, scholarship, leadership and service to ������Ƶ.

Allocco will study in Tamil Nadu, India, beginning in summer 2023, documenting the songs, traditions and art forms created by a family of intergenerational pampaikkārar, drummer-priests. The pampaikkārar are unstudied Hindu musicians and ritual specialists.
