ÂÒÂ×ÊÓƵ students and faculty are interacting in new ways this fall that blend online and in-person sessions to help promote health and safety while still providing an engaging learning experience.

Students received the following update from Vice President for Student Life Jon Dooley about a new emergency declaration by the Town of ÂÒÂ×ÊÓƵ that continues to limit mass gatherings to no more than 10 people indoors and 25 people outdoors.

Now a budding scientist and entomologist with the Hamel Lab, Carranza is a first-generation, Latinx college student who once questioned her calling to science. Growing up, she rarely saw scientists who looked like her represented. Her summer internship raised the profile of an unheralded female entomologist from the 20th century and forged connections in her field.

This year, new and returning Communications Fellows traded their usual ice cream social for Zoom and trivia. Nevertheless, the Aug. 27 event allowed first-year Fellows to connect virtually with upperclassmen and hear about their experiences in the Fellows program.

Twenty-seven students in the Class of 2021 will help lead moot court programs over the next year by participating in upcoming national contests and coordinating ÂÒÂ×ÊÓƵ Law's own Billings, Exum & Frye National Moot Court Competition.

Fitness centers and other recreation spaces will open, with modifications including reduced space capacities, reservation requirements, face coverings and enhanced cleaning protocols.

The event organized by the Black Student Union provided members of the ÂÒÂ×ÊÓƵ community a chance to come together and advocate for change.
