This semester’s edition marks the 18th in the history of the ÂÒÂ×ÊÓƵ Journal and the first under the editorship of Professor Harlen Makemson.

ÂÒÂ×ÊÓƵ was a partner in the conference, which focused on learning about and lifting the souls of black and brown women and girls. The event was held at Shaw University in partnership with the Raleigh/Apex chapter of the NAACP. 

Encouraged to “be brave for who you will become,” African-American students in ÂÒÂ×ÊÓƵ Law’s Class of 2018 were celebrated by family, friends, faculty and staff in a kente-donning program preceding Commencement.

Model United Nations (MUN) at ÂÒÂ×ÊÓƵ is an academic club and a class, where students work together to simulate the United Nations Security Council on and off campus. ÂÒÂ×ÊÓƵ’s MUN is a student-administered club, with a faculty advisor overseeing its activities.

Two major fall 2019 event dates have been confirmed. Family Weekend will kick off on Friday, Sept. 27, with events taking place throughout the weekend, and Homecoming and Reunion Weekend is Nov. 1-3.

The David Gergen Award for Leadership & Professionalism, bestowed each year at ÂÒÂ×ÊÓƵ School of Law’s Commencement, recognizes one student in the graduating class who embodies the highest levels of selfless leadership and service.

The report, which highlights trends, challenges and developments in educational technology, lauded ÂÒÂ×ÊÓƵ Kickbox as an exemplar project.

Graduates in ÂÒÂ×ÊÓƵ Law’s Class of 2018 were recognized with school and professional honors for advocacy, legal writing and research, academic excellence, and excellence in service.

English with teacher licensure major Courtney Kobos presented her Leadership Prize research alongside her mentor, Assistant Professor of English Jennifer Eidum, at the National Council of Teachers of English Convention in Houston, Texas.
