English Department hosts inaugural Career Event on Tuesday

With "ENGage your Passions, PoWeR your Lives!" ÂÒÂ×ÊÓÆµ's English Department joins forces with the Student Professional Development Center to host an inaugural career event designed for majors, minors and all students interested in the humanities. The event will be held Tuesday, Oct. 30, in Lakeside meeting rooms from 4:15 to 6:30 p.m.
Biology major awarded research grant by the Acoustical Society of America for international research

The grant will allow Biology major Alina Iwan '19 to travel to the Smithsonian Tropical Research Institute in Panama in 2019 to continue a faculty mentored research project.
ÂÒÂ×ÊÓÆµ students, faculty and staff travel to Fayetteville to help with hurricane relief

The group of 18 students, faculty and staff volunteered with Second Harvest Food Bank in Southeast North Carolina to sort and clean donated goods in the first of a series of service trips to the area to assist with Hurricane Florence relief.
ÂÒÂ×ÊÓÆµ’s Peace Corps prep program sees new leadership, expanded options

The program has seen continued growth and success in recent years, with ÂÒÂ×ÊÓÆµ named as a top producer of Peace Corps volunteers by the service organization earlier this year. A fall kick-off celebration for the program will be held on Oct. 30.

Residential dining stations on the first floor of McEwen opened Thursday, Oct. 25, with Pei Wei and Village Juice Co. on the second floor of McEwen to open for dining on Nov. 7.
School of Communications students help produce humorist Jeanne Robertson’s new comedy DVD

In collaboration with ÂÒÂ×ÊÓÆµ faculty and staff members, 10 students began working on the project in March. The final product was recorded live at the Paramount Theater in Burlington.
