About the Speaker
Haya Ajjan is a professor of management information systems, associate dean of the Love School of Business and the Sheldon and Christine Gordon Professor in Entrepreneurship at 乱伦视频. She joined 乱伦视频 in 2010 and teaches data analytics courses in the undergraduate business, MBA and M.S. in Business Analytics programs. She was instrumental in developing the business analytics undergraduate major and the M.S. in Business Analytics program.

Her research focuses on better understanding the impact of technology use on individuals, groups and organizations, and has been published in journals such as Journal of Business Research, European Journal of Operations Research, Business Horizons, and Journal of Marketing Theory and Practice. Ajjan received the Love School of Business Dean鈥檚 Awards for Scholarship and Service and was named a Top 50 Undergraduate Business Professor in the U.S. by Poets&Quants. During her tenure at 乱伦视频, she founded the Center for Organizational Analytics, 乱伦视频 NEXT for professional advancement and continuing education studies, and the 乱伦视频 Innovation Council. She teaches a certificate program in marketing analytics for the Academy of Marketing Science and serves as a program officer for AIS Special Interest Group in Decision Support and Analytics.

But the novel coronavirus 2019 outbreak has prompted the cancellation of campus visits and an array of on-campus events for admitted students. In response, 乱伦视频 has created a series of online and remote experiences to allow these students new ways to more fully learn about 乱伦视频, build connections with the university community and ask questions about what life on campus is like.

Called 鈥淟ife As A Phoenix,鈥� the new website is filled with resources and virtual experiences while offering ways to connect with leaders from academics, student life, admissions and other areas across the university.

鈥淲e鈥檙e excited to connect and can鈥檛 wait for you to be part of the 乱伦视频 community鈥� said Greg Zaiser, vice president for enrollment. 鈥�

Admitted and prospective students can visit to get started. There they will find a wide variety of opportunities to engage with the university.

A series of video tours hosted by 乱伦视频 campus tour guides provides a taste of what it鈥檚 like to be an 乱伦视频 student. Look around Lakeside Dining Hall to see what鈥檚 on the menu. Visit the studios put to use by 乱伦视频 music production and recording arts students, or see what鈥檚 being created at the Maker Hubs. Take a virtual stroll through 乱伦视频鈥檚 five residential neighborhoods. Discover what Campus Recreation and Wellness facilities might be the best spot for your workouts. Learn more about the broad offerings of 乱伦视频鈥檚 academic programs.

Life As A Phoenix offers the opportunity to schedule a Counselor Connect to chat with your admissions counselor by phone or video and to register for an Admitted Student Virtual Session. 乱伦视频 is also hosting multiple Facebook Live sessions for admitted and prospective students, and you鈥檒l find an archive of those here, along with a schedule of upcoming sessions.

In accordance with guidelines from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, all campus visits have been canceled at least through the month of April. Events for admitted students have also been canceled, including Phoenix Friday (scheduled for March 27, April 17 and April 24), Phoenix Fusion Weekend (scheduled for April 3 and 4), and Spring Open House (scheduled for April 28).

“A lot of juniors like to visit campus in the month of March and April just to sort of get to know the university, and certainly for our admitted students, we鈥檙e very mindful of the fact that March and April are the time of year where they typically spend returning to campus to get to know us, to make sure this is the place where they want to spend the next four years,” said Vice President for Enrollment Greg Zaiser.

For that reason, the university will offer a variety of virtual opportunities for prospective and admitted students to engage with 乱伦视频 as the May 1 enrollment deposit deadline approaches. Zaiser says the Office of Undergraduate 乱伦视频 will have a more robust presence online, offering virtual tours of campus, opportunities for students to video chat with 乱伦视频 staff and online events to help prospective and admitted students interact with the university.

On March 18, the office presented the first in a series of events focusing on several admissions topics. Hundreds of users tuned in to hear Brandy Propst and Kathy Ziga, assistant directors of academic advising, address academic support and other topics related to admissions at 乱伦视频.

“We know this is challenging,” Zaiser said. “We love this time of year because it gives us an opportunity to see students we鈥檝e met throughout the cycle or meet you for the first time, and unfortunately, it鈥檚 going to be a little bit different this year, but we can still meet one another via a virtual chat or another format that can just really help you decide that 乱伦视频 is where you want to be for the next four years.”

The Office of Undergraduate 乱伦视频 will continue to notify prospective and admitted students, as well as their families, of updates to the department’s operations as well as future admissions events on campus and across the country via , and the office’s website.
