Hundreds of ÂÒÂ×ÊÓƵ students will be involved in activities during CELEBRATE! 2015, a celebration of achievements in academics and creative endeavors that culminates with the university's second annual extravaganza of the arts & sciences.

Scores of ÂÒÂ×ÊÓƵ students took part Friday afternoon in the Hindu festival of Holi, a celebration of color that ushers in the season while marking the triumph of good over evil.

The campus community took part Thursday in the "Reading of the Names," a daylong program on the front steps of Moseley Center organized by ÂÒÂ×ÊÓƵ Hillel and the Truitt Center for Religious and Spiritual Life as part of Holocaust Remembrance Week.

An April 14 dinner and ceremony featured a keynote address by T. Mills Kelly, a professor of history at George Mason University and a specialist in the scholarship of teaching and learning history. 

ÂÒÂ×ÊÓƵ students, faculty and staff traveled for a week in late March to assist communities with service work while learning about social issues that impact communities both in the United States and abroad.

The Student Professional Development Center and faculty mentors were resources for Heather Harder '14 as she sought professional internships, one of which led to a job offer prior to finishing her degree program.

Mary Rouse, a political science major from Charlotte, North Carolina, will study strategic narratives next year at Royal Holloway, University of London, as she works toward a graduate degree in media, power and public affairs. 

Rodney Parks received the Emerging Leader Award this month from the American Association of Collegiate Registrars and ÂÒÂ×ÊÓƵ Officers.

Christine Fortner, an elementary education major from Virginia, travels to Southeast Asia after graduation to help others learn English as part of a federal program that builds good will between the United States and people of other nations.

Alexandra "Allie" Barteldt will spend the summer in India learning the Hindi language with support from the federal Critical Language Scholarship Program.
