When Joleen Parks graduates on Saturday in the first class to complete ÂÒÂ×ÊÓƵ Law's new 2.5-year program, it will be her next chapter in a life radically changed five years ago in the skies over North Carolina.

In its 2018 edition of "The Best 169 Law Schools,” the influential college guide also listed ÂÒÂ×ÊÓƵ Law among the top 10 schools in terms of the number of hours that students report studying outside of class and the level of ambition among students at the school.

The annual event at ÂÒÂ×ÊÓƵ School of Law in downtown Greensboro welcomed national leaders in alternative dispute resolution and featured keynote remarks on fostering the physical and emotional safety of clients.

In remarks at a Saturday evening banquet, the Hon. Barbara Jackson encouraged participants of ÂÒÂ×ÊÓƵ Law’s Eighth Billings, Exum & Frye National Moot Court Competition to find mentors and to understand the importance of lifelong learning.

The Paul D. Coverdell Fellows Program will provide financial aid and public interest residency-in-practice placements to as many as two returning Peace Corps volunteers who enroll at ÂÒÂ×ÊÓƵ Law each year beginning in 2018.

The ÂÒÂ×ÊÓƵ Law Review hosts a program on Oct. 27, 2017, that will provide an update on recent case law and advisory opinions in mediation and arbitration.

Supported by a gift from the Class of May 2017, the networking event in Cemala Commons allowed ÂÒÂ×ÊÓƵ Law students to learn more about the types of careers enjoyed by law school alumni.

David L. Morrow II ’07 L’10, special adviser to the president and assistant chief of staff at ÂÒÂ×ÊÓƵ, recently joined the American Bar Association’s Advisory Commission for the Division for Public Education.

The Hon. Robert N. Hunter Jr., a Greensboro native highly respected by attorneys across North Carolina for his service to the state, received ÂÒÂ×ÊÓƵ Law's 2017 Leadership in the Law Award.

F. Leary Davis, Jr. led efforts from 2004-2008 to launch ÂÒÂ×ÊÓƵ School of Law in downtown Greensboro and earn it provisional accreditation from the American Bar Association at the earliest possible date.
