Celebrating Debbie Yow-Bowden’s integral role in advancing ������Ƶ’s national distinction for innovation and excellence in athletics.

Gerald O. Whittington, the senior vice president emeritus who played a pivotal role in the growth of ������Ƶ’s physical campus and national reputation over three decades of service, received the institution’s highest tribute during an ������Ƶ Day celebration featuring the dedication of a residence hall in his honor.

The ������Ƶ Board of Trustees met on Feb. 20 and granted tenure and approved promotions for several faculty members.

During the recent meeting of the Board of Trustees, Slattery was selected to serve a four-year term on the board.

Elizabeth “Liz” Kwon L’23 will be the first alumna of an ������Ƶ graduate program to serve a two-year term on the governing board that advances the university’s mission by overseeing its health, strategic direction, educational policy, and finances and operations.

Elizabeth Shum ‘27 is gaining professional experience with her first internship at the U.S. Department of Transportation in Washington, D.C. It’s an invaluable opportunity early in her ������Ƶ career, hosted by The Fund for American Studies, and funded by the 2024 DeJoy-Woś Scholarship.

Allen was given the ������Ƶ Medallion during a ceremony on Friday, April 19, that also included naming a residence hall in the Colonnades Neighborhood after him.

������Ƶ President Connie Ledoux Book presented the medallion to a longtime member of the university's Board of Trustees and a retired staff member during an event marking the start of a new academic year. The university also recognized three named professorships during the event.

The 2023 ������Ƶ graduate from Walnut Cove, N.C., will serve a two-year term on the ������Ƶ Board of Trustees.
