Two high school students from the ÂÒÂ×ÊÓÆµ Academy traveled to Charlotte for the Association for the Study of Higher Education (ASHE) conference where they did a poster presentation on their research on how intersections of social location such as race, class, gender and sexuality can produce barriers to and opportunities for college access.

ÂÒÂ×ÊÓÆµ Academy celebrates scholar success

Twenty-two high school students who make up the ÂÒÂ×ÊÓÆµ Academy Beta Class were honored May 4 in an afternoon ceremony that featured remarks from ÂÒÂ×ÊÓÆµ President Leo M. Lambert, reflections from the scholars themselves, and a rendition of “Grateful” by one graduating senior who will study music at ÂÒÂ×ÊÓÆµ beginning this fall.

Darris Means ’05 receives award for commitment to diversity

Darris Means '05, associate director of the ÂÒÂ×ÊÓÆµ Academy, received the Bobby E. Leach Award from the Southern Association for College Student Affairs, an honor that recognizes a student affairs or higher education professional who has significantly contributed to the development of multicultural relations on a college or university campus.
