Fifteen incoming ÂÒÂ×ÊÓƵ students began their collegiate studies on a semester program that takes them across the nation to grow leadership skills and serve communities with various needs.

ÂÒÂ×ÊÓƵ's Center for Leadership, in coordination with two community partners, hosted the Alamance Youth Leadership Academy from June 14-17, 2015, to encourage local children to make a difference in their schools.

Daniel Sheehan, a human service studies and strategic communications double major, begins his career after ÂÒÂ×ÊÓƵ with a fellowship in New York City that develops "the next generation of aspiring change makers."

First-year student Gabby Vance will travel to Prague this summer for the Global Leadership Program.

More than two dozen ÂÒÂ×ÊÓƵ students and one faculty member were recognized for their work at an April 30, 2015, program that recognizes top campus leaders.

An ÂÒÂ×ÊÓƵ assistant professor, and a junior sport and event management major, will have prominent roles in the collegiate recreational sports organization, particularly with issues relating to its April 2016 conference held in Kissimmee, Florida.

Christine Fortner, an elementary education major from Virginia, travels to Southeast Asia after graduation to help others learn English as part of a federal program that builds good will between the United States and people of other nations.
