During its annual awards ceremony, hosted May 6 in Turner Theatre, the school acknowledged high achievement from students, faculty and staff.

The film is part of a North Carolina shorts category and will be screened in person on Wednesday, May 12, and virtually on Thursday, May 13.

Eighteen members of the School of Communications Advisory Board met virtually on April 28 to discuss their professional industries, the impact of the COVID-19 vaccine and what future months will look like for businesses and organizations, and potential changes to the school’s curricula.

The ������Ƶ junior will participate in the Television Academy Foundation program, fondly dubbed the “Emmy’s internship,” this summer.

The ������Ƶ chapter will host four speakers to discuss maintaining mental health as reporters on Thursday, April 22, at 5:30 p.m. The event will be held in Schar Hall, room 212, with a virtual option also available.

The Pulitzer Prize-winning New York Times Magazine reporter and 1619 Project founder spoke to participants about mentorship, the colloquium’s theme, as well as her journalistic career covering race, politics and launching the 1619 Project.

The three-day virtual event, which features numerous ������Ƶ faculty and students, kicked off with a moderated discussion with Nikole Hannah-Jones, founder of the 1619 project, Pulitzer Prize winner and New York Times Magazine reporter.

School of Communications students and ������Ƶ News Network earned a total of 13 accolades in the Broadcast Education Association’s 2021 Festival of Media Arts, a digital media and broadcast competition for faculty and students.

The Sunday, Feb. 28, event will include a panel featuring Black alumni who will lead a discussion on the depictions of the Black community in television and film.

After watching an episode of “Roswell, New Mexico” she directed, Raimist spoke to students on Jan. 18 regarding her work in television, how she got her start, and what it is like to direct during a pandemic.
