Two ÂÒÂ×ÊÓƵ faculty recently participated in a debate panel June 11-14 at Barnard College during the 9th Annual Summer Institute on Reacting to the Past.

ÂÒÂ×ÊÓƵ junior Josh Chagani has been awarded the LIN Television Corporation Minority Scholarship and Training Program for 2009, a national award that will pay up to $20,000 annually in expenses for tuition, fees, books, room and board during his junior and senior years.

The National Science Foundation has awarded a $16,000 grant to ÂÒÂ×ÊÓƵ associate professor Megan Squire to hire student researchers for an ongoing project initially funded by the NSF in 2007.

Megan Squire Conklin, an associate professor of computing sciences, has published an article titled "Integrating Projects from Multiple Open Source Code Forges" in the International Journal of Open Source Software and Processes.

Richard "Rick" Watson, the co-leader of a nonprofit effort to produce free electronic and print textbooks for students in the developing world, visited ÂÒÂ×ÊÓƵ on Monday to share his vision and to seek partnerships at the university with which to expand the Global Text Project.
