Personal experience has driven ÂÒÂ×ÊÓƵ senior Kayla Harvey to study the way collegiate varsity student-athletes recover from the type of head injuries that each year affect millions of Americans.

ÂÒÂ×ÊÓƵ, Davidson College and Furman University collaborated this month to host an undergraduate research forum featuring student projects that sought answers to several public health questions and concerns.

As part of the 2nd Annual ÂÒÂ×ÊÓƵ BrainCARE Symposium, an ÂÒÂ×ÊÓƵ panel explored the reasons that led to the implementation of a safer protocol when determining return-to-play and return-to-learn decisions at the university.

The 2nd annual ÂÒÂ×ÊÓƵ BrainCARE Symposium will be held on May 8, 2015, in  Lakeside Meeting Room 212.

In addition to her rigorous coursework and research, the junior exercise science major has been volunteering continually since junior high school, and plans to use her ÂÒÂ×ÊÓƵ education as preparation to study physical therapy.

Faculty from Department of Exercise Science (Caroline Ketcham, Eric Hall, Walter Bixby, Paul Miller and Kenneth Barnes), Department of Physical Therapy Education (Stephen Folger and Srikant Vallabhajosula) and Department of Sports Medicine (Kirtida Patel) and ESS alum Kelsey Evans '14 recently published articles in Journal of Visualized Experiments and International Journal of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation.

ÂÒÂ×ÊÓƵ students and professors shared research findings and creative work Tuesday at the Spring Undergraduate Research Forum, a day set aside each spring for the campus community to celebrate scholarship and faculty mentoring relationships.
