The competition brought together 16 colleges or universities to propose action to address food insecurity and promote deliberative problem-solving.

In this edition of #ÂÒÂ×ÊÓƵTBT, we celebrate a history of service at the university, specifically its efforts to charter one of the nation's first campus chapters of Habitat for Humanity.

During Hunger and Homelessness Awareness Week, ÂÒÂ×ÊÓƵ Dining and Campus Kitchen are collaborating to help fight food insecurity in Alamance County. Donate five canned goods at Lakeside Dining Hall and receive a free meal. In addition, the Faces of Homelessness Panel will be Monday, Nov. 11.

Through ÂÒÂ×ÊÓƵ Volunteers!, Emma Greenberg '20 has been a leader on ÂÒÂ×ÊÓƵ's campus. She has turned her sixth-grade passion into action, through her involvement with both ÂÒÂ×ÊÓƵ Buddies and Special Olympics.

ÂÒÂ×ÊÓƵ students, in collaboration with ÂÒÂ×ÊÓƵ Volunteers! and the American Red Cross, hosted the Fall Blood Drive on Tuesday, Oct. 29, to collect donations for neighbors in need. 

Through Fall Alternative Break programs offered by the Kernodle Center for Service Learning and Community Engagement, students headed to both ends of the state of North Carolina to serve communities in need during Fall Break.

The university is a sponsor of the event hosted by the City of Burlington that offers a look into the wide array of resources, activities, events and businesses available within the local community.

The group of students and staff spent their Fall Break supporting Hurricane Florence relief efforts in Wilmington, North Carolina.

The retreat focused on helping students unlock their ability to make community change through social entrepreneurship.
