The American Bar Association’s Student Lawyer magazine focused its December issue on the increasing value of leadership experience for law students’ career success. The article spotlights ������Ƶ Law’s multi-year leadership program.

By co-authoring a Nov. 14 intellectual property law scholars letter to President Obama and Congress, as well as a front page Dec. 6 column in the Los Angeles and San Francisco editions of the Daily Journal, California’s largest legal newspaper, ������Ƶ Law Professor David S. Levine continued to detail implications of secrecy in international law making. 

With 63 member states, UNIDROIT seeks to harmonize law across the globe through international conventions and the production of model laws. ������Ƶ Law Professor Henry Gabriel was the sole candidate from the United States, having been nominated to the governing council by the United States Department of State. 

������Ƶ Law Professor Steve Friedland, who was featured as one of the nation’s 26 best law teachers in a recent book, shares insights about effective teaching in the December 4 edition of North Carolina Lawyers Weekly.

Dear prospective student,

As we begin the holiday break, we wanted to send a brief reminder about our upcoming Early Decision application deadline this Sunday, December 1.  While we will continue to accept regular decision applications throughout the year, the Early Decision process affords candidates a special opportunity to confirm their commitment to attending ������Ƶ Law and receive an admissions decision by the start of the year.  In addition, those accepted through the Early Decision process will receive a scholarship decision in January, benefiting from being considered early in the awards cycle when scholarship funds are most available.  The Early Decision process is not for everyone, but it is perfect for applicants who are certain that ������Ƶ Law is their first-choice institution. 

������Ƶ’s schools of law and health sciences hosted a forum about the intricacies of determining individual “capacity” in legal and medical contexts.  

The Small Business & Entrepreneurship Clinic, In-House Counsel Externship Program and Semester-in-Practice Externship Program add to the law school's array of hands-on learning opportunities. 

������Ƶ Law Professors Patricia C. Perkins and Catherine J. Wasson presented results of their preliminary research on the relationship between writing skills and law school success at the North and South Carolina Legal Writing and Research Colloquium, held at the University of South Carolina.
