Melodie Menzer is the 2013 recipient of ÂÒÂ×ÊÓƵ School of Law’s highest honor for a graduating student, the David Gergen Award for Leadership and Professionalism.

On the eve of commencement exercises for the Class of 2013 at ÂÒÂ×ÊÓƵ School of Law, members of the class celebrated with family and friends.

Ian Phillips will serve as Executive Lieutenant Governor and Brian Park will serve as Lieutenant Governor for Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) for the Fourth Circuit of the American Bar Association Law Student Division.

The ÂÒÂ×ÊÓƵ School of Law Alumni Association invites all law alumni, members of the Class of 2013 and the faculty and administration of ÂÒÂ×ÊÓƵ Law to a special reception welcoming the Class of 2013 into the Alumni Association.

ÂÒÂ×ÊÓƵ Law Professor Scott Gaylord has been named Jennings Professor and Emerging Scholar in recognition of his teaching and scholarship. 

 

Marc D. Bishop, a partner with the law firm of Brooks, Pierce, McLendon, Humphrey & Leonard, LLP, and Ronny B. Lancaster, Senior Vice President for Government Relations at Assurant Inc., have joined the ÂÒÂ×ÊÓƵ Law School Advisory Board.

 

In an event moderated by Lara Logan of "60 Minutes," six spiritual leaders urged ÂÒÂ×ÊÓƵ students to intentionally interact with people of various faith traditions.

A conversation between students, faculty, experts & the community explored how various factors - mental health, the economy and the media, to name a few - contribute to harm from firearms.
