Pamela Lawrence, '12, and Michael Sprague, '11, are among a select group of North Carolina law students chosen by the Research Triangle Area Chapter of the Association of Corporate Counsel to receive the chapter's first-annual scholarship awards. Criteria for the scholarships include academic performance and an interest in the in-house practice of law.

��Ƶ’s Innocence Project presents research and hosts Dwayne Dail, exonerated after 18 years

On November 17, ��Ƶ Law students Daniel Harris, Leah Shellberg, Ashley Smith, Ben Synder, and Melissa Westmoreland presented research into potential wrongful convictions of individuals in North Carolina, before Christine Mumma, Executive Director of the N.C. Center on Actual Innocence. ��Ƶ's chapter of the Innocence Project also met Dwayne Allen Dail, exonerated after 18 years in prison for a rape he did not commit.

Scott Gaylord presents on constitutional law at Loyola University Chicago School of Law

At the Loyola University Chicago School of Law's Constitutional Law Colloquium, held November 5 and 6, ��Ƶ Law professor Scott Gaylord presented research analyzing recent U.S. Supreme Court cases related to the Establishment Clause in the First Amendment to the U.S. Constitution.

Andy Haile’s article recommending changes in N.C. tax code published in State Tax Notes

The article "How to Reform North Carolina's Tax Code" by ��Ƶ Law professor Andy Haile was published in the December 20 edition of State Tax Notes. Haile's article originally appeared in Addendum, an online publication of the North Carolina Law Review.

Law students encourage kids to excel in school through mock trial performance

Members of the ��Ƶ Law chapter of the Black Law Students Association (BLSA) presented a mock trial before a group of the region's elementary school children on November 21 to teach them about trial advocacy and the range of career and service opportunities created by excelling in school.

��Ƶ Law alumnus Jameson Marks featured in Winston-Salem Journal

Jameson Marks, a member of the Class of 2010, was featured in the December 30 edition of the Winston-Salem Journal for the role he will play in the Forsyth County district attorney's office, serving as a prosecutor whose sole focus will be to handle DWI cases.
