Elaine R. Jones to speak at third-annual Martin Luther King, Jr. forum – Jan. 13

Elaine R. Jones, who served as the first woman president and director-counsel of the NAACP Legal Defense and Educational Fund from 1993 to 2004 and championed a number of groundbreaking civil rights cases over a career spanning three decades, will deliver the keynote address at ÂÒÂ×ÊÓÆµ School of Law's third annual Martin Luther King, Jr. forum on Thursday, January 13, 2011 at 6:30 p.m. in the law library.

David Gergen, prominent political commentator, former presidential adviser and chair of ÂÒÂ×ÊÓÆµ Law's advisory board, features a posting on his "David Gergen's Voice" blog about the revitalization of downtown Greensboro, N.C. The piece, by Gergen's son Christopher, describes the role that ÂÒÂ×ÊÓÆµ Law and other foundation-supported initiatives have played in the city's economic transformation.

ÂÒÂ×ÊÓÆµ Open House at ÂÒÂ×ÊÓÆµ Law – Oct. 29

ÂÒÂ×ÊÓÆµ School of Law will host an ÂÒÂ×ÊÓÆµ Open House on Friday, October 29, from 2 to 4 p.m. This event will give prospective students the opportunity to meet ÂÒÂ×ÊÓÆµ law students, faculty, and staff; attend a mock law class; learn more about the unique characteristics of an ÂÒÂ×ÊÓÆµ Law education; tour the facilities; and obtain information about our admissions process and financial aid.

Betty Morgan, an associate professor in the Department of Political Science and Public Administration and director of the ÂÒÂ×ÊÓÆµ Center for Public Affairs, and Eric Fink, Jennings Professor of Law and Emerging Scholar at the ÂÒÂ×ÊÓÆµ School of Law, presented a pre-conference workshop on Legal Issues in Internships and Experiential Learning for the National Society of Experiential Education in early October.
