A scholar of international property law, Professor Henry Gabriel has traveled to Europe and Asia this spring for educational and legal advocacy work related to his areas of expertise.

The Hon. James G. Exum Jr., who steps away from teaching this spring after serving ÂÒÂ×ÊÓƵ Law as Distinguished Professor of the Judicial Process, was recognized during a May 10 awards luncheon that celebrated ÂÒÂ×ÊÓƵ educators, mentors and retiring professors.

At the annual Faculty/Staff Lunch on May 10, the ÂÒÂ×ÊÓƵ community honored six faculty members who are retiring his year. 

Participants heard from successful women and student entrepreneurs at the “W.E. Do! Women Entrepreneurs and Our Stories” event.

Timaura Barfield, Sarah Rozek and David Wheaton - members of ÂÒÂ×ÊÓƵ Law’s Class of 2018 - accepted distinguished work placements as part of the North Carolina Bar Association’s Minorities in the Profession 1L Summer Associate Program.

Law school faculty and administrators hosted a May 3 program to honor students for their outstanding academic performances.

Students and colleagues at a celebration of life praised Michael L. Rich, the university's Maurice Jennings Emerging Scholar and an associate professor who died in December, for his selflessness, his passion for teaching and research, and his deep love of family.  

Associate Professor David S. Levine was an invited speaker on April 20 at a program in Minnesota attended by legal practitioners and scholars with an interest in intellectual property.

The ÂÒÂ×ÊÓƵ Law Alumni Association recognized Kristin Thompson Seum '10 L'13, Jim Grant L’12, Adrianne Edmonds Poe L'11 and Angelique Ryan L'16 for contributions to their professions, their communities, and their alma mater during ÂÒÂ×ÊÓƵ Law Alumni Reunion Weekend.

ÂÒÂ×ÊÓƵ Law students, alumni, faculty and staff will gather in the law library on Tuesday, April 25, at 5:30 p.m. to reflect on the legacy of a beloved professor and colleague who died in December.
