Sam Burke ’89, partner with Pricewaterhouse Coopers and member of the Love School of Business Board of Advisors, will be the featured guest speaker for Beta Alpha Psi during the accounting and finance organization’s meeting on Tuesday, March 8.

The announcement of two major gifts highlighted a 25th anniversary gala event for ÂÒÂ×ÊÓƵ's Martha and Spencer Love School of Business. Students, faculty, staff and friends of the school gathered Feb. 5 to kick off a yearlong celebration of the school's founding in 1985. The gala featured the announcements of major gifts by ÂÒÂ×ÊÓƵ parent and trustee David Porter and the Martha and Spencer Love Foundation.

Mark White, chief financial officer of SAP North America and a member of the Love School of Business Board of Advisors, will be giving a presentation on Thursday, February 3, from 2:30 – 3:30 p.m. in LaRose Digital Theater, Koury Business Center. The program is open to all ÂÒÂ×ÊÓƵ students. A reception will follow.

The Love School of Business and accounting and finance honorary organization Beta Alpha Psi are sponsoring Volunteer Income Tax Assistance Clinics this month at Holly Hill Mall for Alamance County residents.

Several economics students presented their research this past weekend at the Eastern Economics Association’s annual conference in New York City.

Katy Rouse, assistant professor, James Barbour, associate professor, Greg Lilly, associate professor, Jen Platania, associate professor, and Steve DeLoach, professor, all presented new research this past weekend at the Eastern Economics Association’s annual meetings in New York City.

Steve DeLoach, professor of economics, has been elected to serve a three-year term as a councilor in the Social Science Division of the Council on Undergraduate Research.

John Rice, GE President and CEO of Global Growth and Operations, will be delivering a talk on global business issues on Wednesday, March 9 in LaRose Digital Theatre from 9:35 to 10:35 am and again from 10:50 am to 12:00 pm.

Members of ÂÒÂ×ÊÓƵ’s chapter of Beta Alpha Psi competed in the 2011 Best Practices Competition sponsored by Deloitte at the Southeast Regional conference, held February 25-26 in Charlotte, N.C.

ÂÒÂ×ÊÓƵ students Mike Nowak, Brian Serow, Matt Gillette and Alex Carberry traveled to Montreal to compete in the John Molson Undergraduate Case Competition, held February 20-26 at Concordia University’s John Molson School of Business.
