The five annual awards celebrate excellence in teaching, scholarship, service-leadership, mentorship and staff in ÂÒÂ×ÊÓƵ College, the College of Arts and Sciences.

ÂÒÂ×ÊÓƵ faculty Hwayeon Ryu and Andrea Perreault have joined the three-year Computational Biology Peer Mentor Network, a national initiative connecting faculty from primarily undergraduate institutions to strengthen interdisciplinary teaching, research, mentorship and professional development in computational biology.

Students and faculty at the ÂÒÂ×ÊÓƵ Mathematics and Statistics Department attended and presented at MathFest, the annual meeting of the Mathematical Association of America on Aug. 5-8 in Boston, Massachusetts.

Hwayeon Ryu in the Department of Mathematics and Statistics has been recognized for teaching and making a lasting impact on mathematics education.

Jeff Clark presented on "Surreal Numbers" at the annual meeting MathFest of the Mathematical Association of America in Boston on Aug. 7.

Associate Professor of Mathematics Hwayeon Ryu and Assistant Professor of Biology Efra Rivera-Serrano received a three-year, $500,138 grant to study viral myocarditis.

Oliver Keicher ‘27, a supply chain management and data analytics major, gained experience in procurement, manufacturing and process improvement while contributing ideas of his own.

Four members of the Mathematics and Statistics Department traveled to Brisbane, Australia for the International Conference on Teaching Statistics, held every four years.

The workshop focuses on collaborative research, in small groups of underrepresented genders, including female-identifying researchers, each group working on an open problem in a particular area of mathematical biology guided by a senior group leader. 

Walter M. Williams High School students worked with ÂÒÂ×ÊÓƵ student mentors on year-long statistics research projects. The students presented their research in the morning poster session at SURF.
