On the same day that the first African American took the oath for the nation’s highest office, ������Ƶ Leadership Fellows embarked to the Deep South for tour that connected history to the present. Twenty-three students traveled to Alabama and Georgia during Winter Term as part of a course on civil rights and nonviolence.

Wayne Meisel is president of The Corella and Bertram F. Bonner Foundation, which supports scholarships for low-income students at 22 schools in the Southeast and Midwest through the Bonner Scholars Program. In return, each scholarship recipient performs 600 hours of community service a year.
