The educational journey through conversation (however heated), will be facilitated by Melissa Jordan in the Multicultural Center, as well as one representative from SPECTRUM and D.E.E.P. Phi Beta Delta inducts newest members /u/news/2012/05/15/phi-beta-delta-inducts-newest-members/ Tue, 15 May 2012 12:45:00 +0000 /u/news/2012/05/15/phi-beta-delta-inducts-newest-members/
Dr. Lambert after being officially inducted into the chapter.

After many years of inactivity the Epsilon Lambda chapter of Phi Beta Delta Honor Society for International Scholars inducted its newest class at a formal induction ceremony on Friday, May 11.

Phi Beta Delta is the first honor society dedicated to recognizing scholarly achievement in international education. The society coins membership from ÂÒÂ×ÊÓƵ students who displayed scholarly achievement, who have studied abroad, and who have shown a true dedication to international education, cultural awareness and high academic achievement.

The Epsilon Lambda began reactivation during spring 2010 with a Planning Advisory Council administered by Phi Beta Delta’s Executive Office. The advisory council was run by Chapter President Jaclyn Seisman ’11 whom later passed the presidency to ÂÒÂ×ÊÓƵ senior Cedric Pulliam. In the fall 2011 semester Pulliam and vice president Kelly Huston ’13 worked to bring the chapter as the chapter advisor, Professor Jim Brown, was on sabbatical for an academic year in Thailand.

The chapter received approval of the Executive Office to proceed with application in February 2012. After Pulliam attended the 27th annual Phi Beta Delta International Conference in Kansas City, Mo., the chapter was reactivated with the approval of the Executive Office to conduct an induction ceremony on May 11, 2012.

ÂÒÂ×ÊÓƵ’s chapter of Phi Beta Delta was chartered in September 2002.

Congratulations to the 2012 Inductees:

Nathan John Dean
Whitley Lorraine Dozier
Michelle Ryan Gill

The Epsilon Lambda chapter selected two honorary members this year to join the 2012 inductees. ÂÒÂ×ÊÓƵ President Leo M. Lambert accepted an invitation and was inducted into the Epsilon Lambda chapter of Phi Beta Delta Honor Society for International Scholars on May 10, 2012, in a private ceremony. Alongside Lambert, Professor Thomas Arcaro, director of Project Pericles, also accepted the honorary membership into the chapter.
