In an unconventional election season, students working at the ÂÒÂ×ÊÓƵ Poll gained unique insights into the prevailing mood of voters and the state of civic discourse. 

Students, faculty and staff are invited to this Nov. 10 discussion in Whitley Auditorium that seeks to interpret the results of Election Day. 

The ÂÒÂ×ÊÓƵ Poll conducted three surveys this fall, with the final one coming a little more than a week before Election Day.

Jason Husser, director of the ÂÒÂ×ÊÓƵ Poll and assistant professor of political science at ÂÒÂ×ÊÓƵ, offers pre-election insights into the battleground state of North Carolina as part of this piece for The Conversation.

The article explores whether a lack of empathy is behind a more contentious civic environment leading up to Election Day. 

A group of eight ÂÒÂ×ÊÓƵ students recently spent the weekend in Washington, D.C., putting themselves in the place of international leaders to navigate historic and fictional international crises. 

Laura Roselle, professor of political science and policy studies, will receive the award at the association's annual convention in February which will feature a panel discussion about her scholarship. 

Fifty-six student media members are collaborating to provide real-time storylines, results and insights for the presidential, gubernatorial and U.S. Senate races.

The survey conducted Oct. 23-27 is the final survey by the ÂÒÂ×ÊÓƵ Poll before Election Day on Nov. 8.

The bus is traveling through battleground states with stops at colleges, universities and high schools leading up to the Nov. 8 election.
