On her first day in office, ÂÒÂ×ÊÓƵ’s new president was on hand for the final regular season intercollegiate basketball game in Alumni Memorial Gymnasium. The game ended in a big Phoenix win.

More than 50 ÂÒÂ×ÊÓƵ faculty members gathered in the Numen Lumen Pavilion Monday to welcome Connie Book, who was elected Sunday to serve as ÂÒÂ×ÊÓƵ's ninth president. 

As part of the community events planned for Oct. 9, Book met with ÂÒÂ×ÊÓƵ staff leaders during a casual campus reception.

Students, faculty and staff shared their reactions to learning Monday that Dr. Connie Ledoux Book will serve as ÂÒÂ×ÊÓƵ’s ninth president.

Book, who will become ÂÒÂ×ÊÓƵ's ninth president on March 1, was welcomed by the ÂÒÂ×ÊÓƵ community at a gathering in Alumni Gym on Monday, Oct. 9.

All members of the ÂÒÂ×ÊÓƵ community are invited to a special presidential announcement event to welcome Connie Ledoux Book at 12:10 p.m. today, Monday, Oct. 9, in Alumni Gym.

ÂÒÂ×ÊÓƵ’s ninth president has recorded a video message for all members of the ÂÒÂ×ÊÓƵ community. 

Constance “Connie” Ledoux Book, provost of The Citadel, The Military College of South Carolina, and former ÂÒÂ×ÊÓƵ faculty member and administrative leader, has been elected the university’s ninth president.
